2008 Bay Area Maker Faire this weekend!
The Maker Faire is back again this weekend! Taking place at the San Mateo Fairgrounds in it’s 3rd year on May 3rd and 4th (saturday and sunday). Some highlights of who/what will be there:
And not to be missed the CerviScope! Seems a little nutty, but a medical device is making the scene this year. Brought to us by Imagyn.
The cerviScope is a portable colposcope. This is a medical device designed for use in low-resource settings based on requirements taken from gynecologists around the world. The cerviScope detects HPV lesions on the cervix with the goal of preventing cervical cancer for women in the developing world.
Definitely a cool idea, and doing their part to bring healthcare to the needy.
Also of Note there will be a Special Private Day for Teachers and Students this Friday. If you are either, here is your chance to get first crack at some of these amazing demonstrations and activities.
