Open Studios in the Mission Last Weekend
Nothing was nicer than standing chatting with some artists outside Fabric8 with a beer, and then biking a few blocks in this great evening sunshine to another friend’s apartment, where he had put paintings on every surface, including the bathroom. Good times. Buy art!
I guess it’s annoying to write about something *after* it happened, so apologies. Next year, or next time they do open studios, I recommend it. Super fun.
Paintings: Dave Hunkins, dmhunkins-at-yahoo.com did the red one, and Reuben Rude, “Just For Being Born” did the brown one. His work is at Fabric8- you can find it on 22nd St. and Valencia near Jet Peru, and online at www.fabric8.com
Hi Anna. FYI the open studios go on for a few more weekends. I got an invite from a friend who is showing at Hunter’s Point Shipyard Nov 3 and 4. Check website SF Open Studios
Also Reuben Rude is from Point Arena ! the son of good friends from up here who are also artists. He is a credit to his fine parents who expected nothing less than the artist-son he became.

Sorry about the two times but i thot the first one was rejected.
Hi, came across this great site looking around for an affordable live/work artist studio. I’m a disabled starving artists and from what questions I’ve asked there is little or nothing that I could afford. Can you live/work in Hunters’ Point Shipyard?? I just read an article about toxicity from chemicals in that area and I’m not sure but I think my asthma would make it difficult to live there if that’strue.
thanks for any help you can provide.

Mark-check craigslist, Check out Project Artaud too. I used to practice music in Hunter’s Point, but I think they discouraged living there.
