Science Fun This Weekend
The American Association for the Advancement of Science is having its annual meeting in San Francisco this year, and they’re having an open-house of sorts this weekend called Family Science Days. Looks like a pretty good bill–the Mythbusters, the Academy of Sciences, and the Exploratorium will all be there, and that’s just scratching the surface. More information at the site. There’s also a writeup in the Chronicle of an AAAS-sponsored visit to the Academy’s Steinhart Aquarium.
Also this weekend, Ask a Scientist will be presenting a talk on string theory by Stanford physics professor Shamit Kachru. It’ll be at the Canvas Gallery. Check out one or both!
