Not going to Burning Man? The city is yours!

The annual week-long celebration of heat stroke, nudity, sandstorms, and experimental everything known as Burning Man kicks off on Monday. While its attendees revel in the wonder of their temporary city in the desert, those of us who remain in the city will be able to run about freely with a large portion of the population off in Nevada playing with fire. So next week, celebrate! Go out! Run around town and enjoy those bars and restaurants that are usually too crowded to tolerate. And this weekend enjoy the pre-Burning Man informal parade of cars weighted down with beater bikes and piles of trash. Good times!

The best week to hang out at Zeitgeist, by far. No line!

Woot – lots of the folks that work at my yoga studio are going to be out there. I’m not going because (a) no money to and (b) it isn’t really eco-friendly.

I hear you on the eco-friendly bit. Folks who think the dessert is empty: argh!

Friend Kathy (author here) suggested we do a series of “empty b/c of burning man” articles… like our favorite places and how they are positively impacted by the flee to BM. What do you think?
