It’s official – the minimum wage in California is going to be the highest in the country. Our good ole governator signed a bill raising it to an even $8 (a $1.25 rise over the next year and a half) on Tuesday. Considering Arnold has been against raising the minimum wage for nearly his entire “reign”, why is he giving it the go now? Two words – ELECTIONS, PEOPLE!

Most of you probably know that the city of San Francisco has its own minimum wage, now up to $8.82 an hour as of January 1st, 2006. Does this mean it will be going up to $10.07 by January 1st, 2008? Good question – none of the news reports answer that question…
