2nd WTF Parking Moment of The Month

Hot on the heels of Christiana’s post, here’s one I took from JasonD’s/Metroblogging’s Birthday Shindig last month.

Of course, me not being native to San Francisco, Squrl and Jonas had to point out that car wasn’t parked right.

Ah, the things that happen whenever JasonD turns another year =D

I disklike most things about SF drivers. I come from a different driving ethic, being a native Angeleno. But the only thing I don’t mind is double parking (usually).

Some people are complete jackasses about it, but mostly, what choice to people have? There’s no where to pull up to deliver people or goods, and it’s a common phenomenon in major urban centers. There are streets where it isn’t proper, and places where it is to be expected – like in front of hotels.

Again, there are plenty of times when it shouldn’t be done – but plenty of times when there are no other options.

Double parkers on MUNI tracks, of course, should be run over. ;)

In this pic, the car was sitting there for quite sometimes, at least 15 minutes. no passenger, and no hazzards. Quite a few cars had to swerve out of the way to avoid it.

Maybe MUNI trains can install cowcatcher’s =D
