After Stefan already sent some details about our stay, about Arse Elektronika, monochrom, whatever… here is my first blog post.
And it’s more than fitting:
Yesterday I met the guy who rendered the “Bit” in Disney’s “Tron”…
That’s what I call a San Francisco experience.

More soon!

I’ll resume blogging on my home metroblog on Monday… and of course I’ll keep posting on our monochrom blog.

Maybe a last picture… I took it last week at the Fire Arts Festival. It’s just two guys creating a giant fire tornado. Nothing unusual in the Bay Area, I’d say.

Best wishes and auf wiedersehen!

Cory Doctorow recommended the book to me some months ago and now I finally find the time to read it. Critser’s analysis is excellent and sends shivers down my spine/alimentary system.

We are proud to announce that the folks at Dorkbot SF invited us to hold our ‘Experience The Experience Of 1 Baud’ workshop today at their monthly meet-up.

What is it all about?
The International Code of Signals serves to facilitate communication at sea. It defines the meaning of alphabetical identification codes for safety and navigation purposes. We want that city dwellers have access to pure communication! At Dorkbot SF we’ll teach the flag alphabet. And on Friday (July 22, 5 PM) we would like, in the form of a competition, to send an identical message across the city over two equally long routes simultaneously. Will it work?

The second presentation at Dorkbot SF will be Otis Fodder and TradeMark G. with “Dueling Theremin Demo and Thereoke”.

Dorkbot SF: Wednesday, July 20, 7 PM @ RxGallery.
