RoboGames 2006 Coverage (With Videos)
Yesterday I was at RoboGames with Geek Entertainment TV; today and tomorrow I’ll be doing that *and* (as I related in this post) judging robot competitions. It’s astounding how many countries are represented there; it’s truly an international competition and exhibition. The thing I discovered interviewing people with Eddie; robots and botbattle is *huge* in Brazil and there are at least four corporate sponsored teams here this year. Wow!
My photo album starts here (I’ll be adding more over the next two days) — the Flickr tag starts here — Make is covering it as well. Three fun videos are after the jump! Soccerbot photo via Eddie’s RoboGames Flickr tag.
Update: friend Scott Beale took incredible photos anad has a nice link-love post at Laughing Squid. Here we are in action for GETV; here is how we feel about old media! Also: new video after the jump.

Sumo wrestler bot:
Cute musical snail artbot:
Super-awesome Robosapien bot playing soccer, falling down and getting back up easily:
Update: We interviewed theyshallwalk.org for GETV today; an incredible segment where we talked to Monty Reed who was paralyzed in a parachute accident and created an exoskeleton to walk and lift things with. He wants to develop them for paras, quads and SCI people, simply incredible stuff. I shot this video super-quick with the GETV microphone in my other hand — I’d asked him to demo the exoskeleton mid-GETV interview for me, and he’s being filmed by more than our cameras at this point…
