Freezy wimps

That’s what we are. Heck, I’ll admit to it too. It’s been really c-o-l-d these couple weeks, and the wind and rain doesn’t help either. Although it seems to be getting better — I actually saw sun this afternoon! Last week’s torrential downpour was nightmarish though… I felt like we were a herd of drowned rats swarming the streets. Not to mention the crazy traffic problems the weather caused. Of course, the problem is further compounded in our house because our heater is on the fritz. That meant lots of sweaters and blankets. BRRR!

I know people in the Midwest and Alaska are laughing at me now. But I can’t be the only one freezing out there — anyone here have similar issues with our San Francisco winter?

I was a bit miffed at the weather … but then I went to Chicago for thanksgiving … shiver.

I guess when you have recently moved here from Chicago this weather is a breath of fresh “warm” air. I can’t complain at all. All my friends back home are freezing in single digits and below zero with wind chill. But I do appreciate the Bay Area freezing wimps because I have yet to turn my heat on at night, everyone else has theirs cranked up and heats my place too! Thanks guys! Oh by the way its snowing in Chicago right now.

I still find it odd that it’s warmer in SF than up here in Rohnert Park.

But the windyness… oh the windyness

Gracie, as a Chicagoan transplant, I’m right there with ya. Though after two years, I think I’m starting to acclimate…

Another Chicago transplant here to laugh at you! I’ve only been here a month…and a couple of weeks ago the San Fran news said, “bundle up”! I called home and it was 5 degrees and had snowed ten inches! Quit the annoying bitching! No offence.

I grew up in Alaska and moved to SF from Seattle three years ago. Y’all had better shut up about how cold it is here. Unless you’re used to three feet of snow with -30 wind chill, I don’t want to hear it.

In fact, it’s probably colder in Portland, Oregon than it is here.

Hell, snow would be an improvement! Believe it or not, snow is actually an insulator. It’s actually warmer with snow on the ground than it is when there’s ice. Like happens in places like….Chicago?
