Report from Apple Media Event, Moscone West

Early Wednesday morning, in the hallowed halls of Moscone West, Apple laid down the release of the iTunes phone as well as the new and amazingly thin iPod Nano. I was there, as a member of the “media” and I took lots of notes. Most of the intrepid amongst you have probably watched the video of the press conference, and many of you already know what went down at the event.
Well I don’t care about that! Sure you may have heard about the big news elsewhere on the ‘net, but nowhere else will you be able to read my inane ramblings and unique observations at the conference. Here I will re-post all five pages of my timeline, and you can read all about the larger-than-life Steve Jobs, a close encounter with Al Gore, weird Madonna canoodling, and the surprising appearance of one Mr. Kanye West. All that and more pics, after the jump.

Hall doors finally open after an hour or so of waiting. TV and radio folk are allowed to get in a little closer (or further as the case may be) to set up their equipment. Most people just tried to make a mad dash toward the front. Music blasting seems to be Coldplay.
9:55 am:
As people start whipping out their laptops, the noise level starts to rise. Who knew journalists networking could be so loud? Apple staffers in their black t-shirts stand around manning the exits, alleys, corridors, and look like Apple

Change pocket? No, my dear. That’s called a watch pocket. It was originally used to hold your (surprise!) pocket watch.
Because my G5 has been acting up I found myself at the Valley Fair Apple Store. After speaking with the genius one of the sales people handed me a little black nano.
Even though I recently got a new iPod shuffle the iPod nano was very tempting. But thinking I should wait to see if my iMac G5 needs an exorcism, or not, I didn’t buy one.
