Announcers using the equivalent of a stage name is a long practice in radio broadcasting, so I wouldn't ascribe much of a sinister meaning to it. In any case, what he says is clear enough with respect to his intentions and perspective, so using his real name, or calling himself Thomas Jefferson, John the Baptist, or the Queen of May wouldn't make much difference.

In fact he is "just an entertainer," but so is Rush Limbaugh, and look how seriously he's taken by people who feel he speaks for them.

The fact this guy broadcasts using a false name must mean something, even if I'm not sure what.

Probably just that he's an entertainer, and never did mean to engage in real political debate.
