I have house-sat for a friend of mine who lives up in the hills on the 36 line and believe me I totally understand what you're going through.

If you are at all dependent on the bus, your time and days get killed pretty easily. You can't just get up and go somewhere and expect to take MUNI - as it is, they come by so randomly and so fast it's easy to miss one and then have to wait an hour.

More often than not, I'd end up just walking, but on a rainy day that's not really a lot of fun.

I think in the haste to make MUNI "faster" they're going to kill off these neighborhood lines, then wonder why it is more people are driving (and no they aint' takin' bikes). They should fix these lines so they feed into main lines more efficiently so people in the hills don't have to take a car every single time they wanna go somewhere.

AHHHHHHHHH... thank you! I also take the 36 sometimes, and was confused by it's odd behavior. I take it from Balboa Park. It has NO set arrival or departure time from my count. Often, the driver just seems to park the bus and wander. Then at random times, when there is enough of a crowd, the bus comes to life, fills up and dashes off!
