Lower Haight resident Veronica Belmont snapped this photo today of actor Sean Penn (c.) in the role of Harvey Milk, with director Gus Van Sant on the right, on the set of “Milk,” filming on location in the Castro on the corner of Haight and Fillmore.

Local TV station NBC11 has a series of photos of location sets on Castro Street for the film.

Photog Belmont is a videoblogger for local search engine company Mahalo. I’ve never quite understood Mahalo’s proposition, but Belmont’s videos are entertaining, like today’s humorous presentation of all the times Obama and Clinton made nice with each other in last night’s debate, or the very pleasant surfing lesson from last fall. She also interviewed Stan Lee and enlivened a boring art show report by running into William Shatner.
