Berkeley’s Robert Haas wins Nat’l Book Award

haas.jpgBerkeley poet Robert Haas, a long-time member of UC Berkeley’s faculty, won the National Book Award for poetry last night for his book Time and Materials. Here’s a SF Chronicle review of the book by the former Poet Laureate of the U.S.

Other winners were Denis Johnson (fiction), Tim Weiner (nonfiction), and Sherman Alexie (young people’s literature).
