North Beach Italian Heritage Parade

Walked around the parade with N Judah Chronicles‘ Greg & brother Dave. It got a lot more crowded at Stockton Street than in the photo above. Also, that was pretty early on.

Stockton

bauer tours Probably the best street fair I’ve been to in SF, bar the Hayes St. Block Party. This was mellow, and it was nice not to be cordoned off into beer gardens but to enjoy sidewalk tables from local merchants. Gavin blessed us with his presence, but my photos are too far away, and he was mobbed by (not kidding) teenage girls in white outfits. All in all a great crowd.

We scored a Caffe Roma table, and Tony informed us that next year we can just reserve one. The parade wound its way up Columbus and took a left at Stockton to end up in front of St. Peter & Paul’s.

The floats were great- Peroni & New Tang Dynasty were perhaps the best. Seems like the suburbs have the grasp of the truly large showy bands, local folks- St. Ignatius & St. Peter & Paul were pretty piddly. Their priorities are elsewhere, right?

New Tang Dynasty

The Blue Angels made a few appearances as we were walking down to SF Microbrewery. Here, I caught a 12 Folsom being blocked by a classic passive aggressive Californian stereotypical SUV (you can see I have strong feelings about this).

    Ana-
Please get it right. You say you take stuff from the "Central Sheriff’s Newsletter"
It is actually the SFPD Central Station Newsletter. Ps- I still drink Starbucks!

Sure- the subtleties of the police department are definitely lost on me, I’ll try to get it better in the future!
