Living in the Top 10
I haven’t gotten to use that plug yet- that North Beach was chosen in the top 10 neighborhoods in the nation. Last night I could have used it, but I thought of it as I was walking home.
We were sitting at Hidden Vine, debating on where to go next. Mad Men was coming up in an hour, so I offered my tv & cable, and it got shot down as North Beach isn’t on the way to anyone else’s house (Inner Richmond, Outer Sunset & Cathedral Hill). I could have said: “But it’s in the top 10 neighborhoods nationwide for its character, and cafe culture!” Sigh, now I’ll wait for another opportunity.
But I did enjoy the options, while walking home, of Thai, Chinese, Italian, or Mexican to-go food. I got to pick up some organic butter (for $4.12) at a health food store on Grant St., and discover that there’s a new bike shop going in at Chestnut & Powell, and it seems that North Beach Pizza is expanding across the street.

NBPizza, from what I’ve heard, is moving across the street and vacating their current location. Question is, what will fill that space?
