Open Letter: Accidental Ass Grab

To the man who shared my lane in the “Medium” speed of the Embarcadero Y pool last night, around 7:30PM. I’m sorry I grabbed your ass.

It was unintentional. My arm reached out in a classic freestyle stroke- I think I was alternate side breathing at that point- and made contact with your surfer style swim shorts. Odd choice, for a swimmer, to wear those kind of shorts now that I think of it. I was surprised as I had no intention of making contact and thought that since you were swimming so much faster than me, fast enough to pass me, that I would never make contact. So I guess you cut me off. In the swim lane. It can be frustrating when there’s a master class hogging up three lanes and us normal people have to swim in the other lanes. I know your fast lane was taken, and I’m sorry for you. I just hope you can swim faster next time you try to pass someone so they don’t get an unintentional fistful of Tommy Bahama.

Aren’t you supposed to post this to “Missing Connections” at Craigslist? Or maybe “Rant and Rave”? :)

Would you consider your behaviour more cheeky
    or ham fisted?
