Oakland airport has approx 100 flights a week that leave from there, and June 12 brings Oakland airport more offerings with the addition of Skybus who regularly offer seats as low as $10 up to $200 to their 14 destination cities.

Southwest Airlines (whose lowest cost mystique was challenged in the Baltimore Sun last month), recently began now offering nonstop SFO service to the following cities: Chicago’s Midway (three flights daily), San Diego (eight daily), and Las Vegas (seven daily). The airline reaches 46 other destinations including Manchester NH, Providence RI, Washington Dulles, BWI and Orlando FL. Southwest has special 21-day advance fares from as low as $39 one-way to San Diego; $59 one-way to Las Vegas; and $99 one-way to Chicago Midway, from all three Bay Area airports (SFO, OAK, and SJO) and available online at http://www.southwest.com/. Travel deals valid from Aug. 26, 2007, through Oct. 31, 2007. All tickets must be purchased 21 days before departure. Note that some fares are listed in the “$39-$59 Promotional Fares” section to the left of their usual “$49 Internet Only” fares.
Air China, has increased the number of flights between Beijing and San Francisco to daily since April.
The embattled carrier Delta Airlines has emerged from bankruptcy and are focusing on changing their image. They plan to alter the travel experience, offering self service kiosks in airports, and in-flight interactive touchscreen entertainment with movies and games, as well as new signature cocktails and better quality fresh meals.

Regionally travelers can also find out of town deals through the websites of popular motel chains like Comfort Inn, Ramada, Motel 6, Best Western, Days Inn, Super 8, Holiday Inn Express, Travelodge.
