The Fog Cometh

Golden Gate I went out on the bay on a weekday! Gloriously empty of week-end warriors. I got the unique view of our city like our north county cousins, and it really looked fogged in all day. Finally a respite from our heated days? I missed the fog. Talking to a couple of North Beach cafe workers last night, one of our first cold nights, and we admitted missing the fog. It’s dependable. You *know* you need a sweater when you head outside. I don’t like this variabilty. I “may” need a sweater? I want our 65-75 dependable weather back!

Other news (well, news in my mind): that foghorn under the Golden Gate Bridge is insanely loud lately. The sea lions are plenty, and they’re jousting a lot in some juvenile angst.

As a transplant from the Midwest I keep expecting this to be a passing phase, maybe just a bad dream, and that the normal, reasonably, 70 degree days and 60 degree nights will come in as Summer finally happens. Memorial Day weekend when it’s too cold to have a cookout? Having a wear a coat in June? It’s like some sort of Southern Hemisphere craziness.
