While watching Olbermann one of the guest interviewees put it perfectly when he said “everyone is looking for someone to blame.” Now that the shooter is dead, all eyes are on the campus security and dispatchers and what they did or didn’t do, because, it’s always gotta be someone else’s fault. I’m surprised that people are SURPRISED this even happened in the first place. Look what has happened to our country, in 7 short years we have become the most immoral, dangerous, and violent society this world has ever known, and the violence is going to continue as long as we lack conscience.

I’m kinda with Tyler on this- the sensationalism of one random murder, almost like crime in suburbia- while we are murdering every day in Iraq. The audience just gets tired & bored of hearing “one suicide bomber kills 8 in Baghdad.”

It’s news because it happened in the US, and one guy killed them all. While lots of people die every day, they are rarely killed by the same person, and if they were I guess that would be equally big news, at least in the country where it happened.

I, like most of us, do not have any personal connection to anybody murdered, so why is this a huge national news story when American soldiers, Iraqi children, Sudanese villagers to name a few are slaughtered viciously everyday. Perhaps people like CD View “others” as less deserving of public mourn than some of “our own.”
