Where Is This?

where is it?

As the Bay Area’s urban landscape is constantly changing, new things pop up on the radar and many are unfamiliar…but in familiar locations. Such was my reaction as I stumbled upon this relatively new development…

… Prolific local architects David Baker + Partners have sent out an invite to check out their latest condo project this Wednesday which is also doubling as an Art Opening of sorts…

da answer to the location question after the ubiquitous page jump…

From david Baker & Partners opening invite:

“Doors are open at our 200 Second Street Condominiums in Oakland, and the building”s two lofty lobbies have been adorned with murals by local artists Casey Jex Smith and Andrew Schoultz. Our friends at Swarm Studios invite you to come meet the artists, enjoy a glass of wine, and celebrate the opening of this beautiful new space on Wednesday, March 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. 200 Second Street, Oakland, CA 94607 ”

seriously, if orlando and orange county can have a metblog, oakland surely deserves it more.

that architecture is beautiful, wish we could get more of that here in SF

i’ prefer we dub it eastbay.metblogs.com since Oakland is just one chunk of turf that could be covered… we still get plenty of gunplay in Hayward, Berkeley & even Pittsburg that could be umbrella’d in eh?
