It is definitely worth the drive from SAC to SFO for the direct flights. Sometime I'll drive north a day earlier and stay at the Air Travel Hotel (http://www.bookandstayinsanfrancisco.com/hotels/air-travel-hotel-reservations.html) for a good nights rest and an early morning flight the next day!

I've always wondered why the international terminal is a ghost town. Isn't it one of the busiest airports in the world?

I travel out of SFO all the time (well, "all the time" for me, anyway) and I love it. Solely the international terminal. What's bad for them is great for the tired traveler - it really isn't ever that crowded. It's nearly zen-like. And there's good food to be found as well.

It's worth the drive time from Sac to have the direct-flight international options.

Great photo, too.

I've been playing with FareCompare recently. It will show you historical prices for fares. Nice to look at when you aren't sure if you should wait for the price to drop.
