The return of Sparkletack!

It’s with great joy that I make this post. The best San Francisco podcast has returned to us after a far too long hiatus. The first new episode is “the crocker spite fence“.

History is rife with bizarre confrontations and grand feuds, but in San Francisco none were more bizarre than the showdown between Charles Crocker (bellicose railroad robber baron) and Nicholas Yung (unassuming German undertaker).

Call it “a tale of two egos”. It was over a very small piece of land, but this property was located on center stage of 1870’s San Francisco — the very top of Nob Hill.

The new website still has a few bugs in it but you can listen to the episodes right on the site until the RSS is fixed. Welcome back Sparkletack!

Yeah that feud is intense, and the property intersection the Crocker plot is also wacky. Definitely worth a specific trip up to Snob Hill to check out.

My love of San Francisco grew even more when this podcast was released. I remember working my high school summer job listening to sparkletack and have emailed the creator a few times but am glad that its back in business

I live in Jax florida, subsribe to laughing squid, metroblogs SF, tinnynibbles, and the SFGATE stuff. Im also involved with EFF and follow a lot of the web 2.0 comapnies. I pretty much live in SF but not really.

anyway its nice to see sparkletack back in business

Thanks for the welcome, guys… and guess what? After burning the site to the ground several times, the RSS demons have been chased away — everything’s finally working like the proverbial charm.
