Kink master: y’all come

In a Chronicle op-ed today, the head of Kink.com, Peter Acworth, invited protesters to visit him and his happy crew in their present digs in SOMA to “meet my 70 employees, who have made Kink.com their home.” And they say Acworth isn’t doing anything to help the housing crisis!

The Kink.com purchase of the Armory was also the subject of a NYT article today, and the piece was syndicated to the International Herald Tribune, among other papers.

Buried in the weekly radio column by Ben Fong Torres is a prediction by Bill Lueth, program director of KDFC, the Bay Area’s only classical music station, that a new corporate owner for the station could spell the end of classical music on the radio in San Francisco. Most depressing quote ever: “KDFC is a success, but it doesn’t make the kind of money light rock does.”

Southwest Airlines will resume flights out of San Francisco in the fall after a six-year absence; JetBlue will also come.

One more reason showing how important it is to support local, independent, media. Big up KPOO all the way!
