Video: the 5024SF gallery crash

If you’ve walked up Fillmore in the Lower Haight recently and wondered why the front windows of the 5024SF gallery and Estella’s were all boarded up, this is why. Apparently some kids went joyriding at 11:45am and smashed right into the place, and into a passerby. This is video of the crash.

*Thanks to Riley for the tip*

Funniest (not haha-funny, but f*cked up funny) part is when a guy nonchalantly walks along the sidewalk with his coat over his shoulder right after the incident — sees a massive car wreck and a person crawling on the ground — AND DOES NOTHING, showing absolutely no emotion to help his fellow man. Kids! Sheesh.
Still, when people run to the person’s aid, this guy just walks away. Ha ha!

When the next generation takes over, I hope I’m not here.

I wish the source of the video had been identified – is this a camera that records 24/7, for security surveillance?

Yes, I was disturbed, too, by the nonchalance of the passers-by. And for how long the struck pedestrian sat on the walk, with no one tending to him.

i think this video teaches us an important lesson: if you’re going to be in a car accident, be the one in the car.

The source of the vid is from a place called UpperPlayground from their security cam. The guy is the video is a friend of mine who’s pals at Upper Playground who dug thru their security tapes and posted the video after it happened. My friend (the victim) is better now, but he’ll be walking with a cane for a few months.
