Anti-Kink demo at Armory

demo.jpgNot content with being heard at the useless Planning Commission hearing scheduled to hear their complaints, upwards of 50 people demonstrated outside the Fortress of Pornitude this afternoon. News at 6. And 10. And, I’m sure, at 11.

Hey, it’s a free country. (Update the next morning: the Chronicle published an update to the story.)

“It’s not OK to promote acts of degradation and violence. We don’t want this kind of stuff here,” a demonstrator was quoted as saying. I hope that means they proceeded a few blocks over to 16th and Capp and demonstrated against the persistent street prostitution there, and then staked out the 16th St. BART station to prevent the drug dealing — crimes that are much closer to degradation and violence than the playacting that goes on in Kink.com’s pornography.

Nobody in this city has the balls to protest ACTUAL violence or degradation. The self-rightious crackie-hugging “progressives” in this city are too busy fighting for the right of the homeless to stay put in GG park. This all started because “yuppies” were going to take over the city. At least yuppies don’t passout and poop in my doorway.

No, and they keep the coke dealers in lower haight in business too. Yuppies are awesome.

I live in the Castro — yuppies pass out and poop in my doorway every Halloween.

but it’s true, what a waste to protest the most healthy work environment I’ve ever seen, not to mention the epitome of “safe sane and consensual” that Kink.com *actually* is. hello — instead, fucking protest the lack of resources to empower (and FEED) the teenage crack whores on 17th and south van ness, or the homophobes that ruin Halloween every year with guns and knives.

seriously. People can talk all they want about the mayor’s problems with booze and promiscuity, but I really don’t care–I care about safety, social justice, and being able to walk two blocks without smelling piss and/or shite, which I really can’t these days. :-/

People making pr0n at a building that’s lain fallow for decades? Rock on, as far as I’m concerned.

They saw $14M changing hands and want their cut.

What I think is hilarious is that the only way ‘innocent children’ are finding out what’s going on inside the brick palace is because of all the protesters outside. If folks really don’t want their kids to know, then they shouldn’t hangout outside.

Remember that the whining bitches of the Mission protested EVERY plan to do something with the armory for thirty years. Why would they stop now? I am grateful to see that the building already has lights (Gasp! Lights!) and that Kink is painting over the grafitti and cleaning up the sidewalk. Bravo!!!!!

This is amusing because there’s nothing actually going on inside the building at the moment. This has to be about the most pointless thing I’ve read all week.
