No Snow
Not so concerned about the Medieval warm period (more info here), but mostly about one of the very real effects of Global Warming (and fresh on the heels of the Climate Report) - and this is so selfish and petty of me, I know– the fact that Tahoe has NO SNOW. I got a funny letter in the mail from a lodge I’d reserved rooms at, saying “have you thought of trip insurance?” Another email saying, “Our snow machines are very good!” etc.
Tahoe is about 40 percent of what is considered normal snow pack at this time of year, National Weather Service meteorologist Brian O’Hara said.
From Bonanza News.
Friends are going up in a 16-person amazingly-logistical trip, and they’ve all realized they may just end up sitting around telling Truth or Dare stories, or strip poker. I’ve got plans end of February, but I’m also trying to get my expectations around “chilly hikes” vs. snowshoeing.
