• Kevin Brockmeier, author of The Brief History of the Dead, reading at 7:00 pm at Booksmith on Haight St. It was just announced that Brockmeier won the Borders Original Voices Award for Fiction.
• Deborah Tannen, author of You’re Wearing That? reading at 7:00 pm at BookShop West Portal, a new neighborhood bookstore owned by the guy who used to run A Clean Well Lighted Place for Books.
• Babble On, a monthly reading followed by open mike, at 8:00 pm at Dog Eared Books on Valencia. This month featuring Bucky Sinister, Jeanne Foss, Tony Vaguely and Shawna Virago.
