Cheap Trick Appears at Macworld Party

First, to set the record straight, it is Macworld not MacWorld. Always.

There are tons of parties that happen during the week of Macworld Expo but last night was the first time the Expo group itself actually threw a party. They called it Macworld Blast and rented out Mezzanine for the night.

I have to say that I was a little disappointed by the crowd. My estimate is that the median age was 38. There were a lot of bald heads in the audience.

The surprise band turned out to be… drumroll please… Cheap Trick. It was very very weird.

    You’re not surprised are you?

After all Macworld is mainstream media and the people who write deadtrees periodicals are just slightly younger than the people who broadcast the evening network news.

Cheap Trick in SF… that hasn’t happened in about 4 years, count yourself lucky… a japanese girl is crying somewhere because she missed it.

What’s so weird about Cheap Trick?

Likely one of the very last great American rock groups, all original members, and songs that cross generational lines & stand the test of time…

Did you expect more ironic haircuts, and techno or The Shins or something?

I believe they work for Bill Gates…

    Cheap Trick rocks…

    your post…not so much.
