Big Big Holiday Cheer

Well, at least they waited until after Halloween.

For the downtown highrise building decorations to emerge, that is. The giant sleighbells (complete with Vanna White reindeer) at the JPMorgan Building, and the ginormous ornaments at 101 California. Have the redwood-sized fluted columns at the Bar Association been festooned yet?

In my neck of the woods, the large airy atrium at the corner of 2nd and Mission, has exhibited signs of contracting decoramus gigantitis, in the form of these gilded pinecones, dangling from the atrium ceiling on yard-wide swaths of red velvet.

Well, at least they HINT at an element of nature. Exaggerated beyond belief and doused in gold glitter, that is.
