Voting in Style
I voted this morning before heading into work. I was pretty pleased that my polling place was in a designer furniture store right around the corner. My neighbors and I voted surrounded by sleek, modern furniture… it seemed like a very SF experience to have.
How was your voting experience today?
I’m not gonna ask if you *did* vote, because you all really should be voting. You have till 8pm today. Go!
I have spent the day at work trying to sort out all of the propositions! Too many! And as soon as I mention that I need to swing by the polling station on the way home from work, I get lectured on the virtues of absentee ballots. I swear that my coworkers have more opinions on how to vote than on what we are voting for.
My voting experience was quite a good one. In all honesty, it was my first time voting, but it will by no means be my last. I wrote a bit more about it on my site and I have pics I took on my flickr account.
What I love about SF: it makes me laugh, reading our propositions. Impeach Bush next to increasing the valet parking tax… I had to call up my sister in Baltimore immediately after and give her a slice o’ Left Coast style. My polling place is in the local middle school. Kids were chasing each other around in circles on the playground like schools of sardines- it was surreal. Wish I had my camera with me!
I voted with absentee ballots. Is there any problem?
Or just it is just personnal preference?
Absentee baby!! Less stress, no lines, and you can sit down and slowly pick through your stack of political fliers to make sense of all the propositions.
