Love Connections

A friend recently returned from Europe after meeting his overseas partner in Paris. He was still floating in love so we decided to catchup at Cafe de la Presse to prolong his blissful state. He shared with me that they met while both were on vacation in Italy alone and just happened to sit in the same cafe. Complete strangers who made eye contact, that sparked smiles, which led to a conversation, that in turn created this relationship a year later.

And that story made me wonder if others have had a similar experience in our city. After all, we have great neighborhood coffee shops, cafes that appeal to various appetites, non-franchised bookstores and so on. Not looking for missed connections, but real connections. Have any of you met a complete stranger and fallen in love while sitting solo? Would you be willing to share??

I once had an encounter with an exotic asian man. i could not make out his whole face because of the sunglasses he was wearing, but his suit was impeccably genuine and his gaze oh so hypnotizing. However, he approached me holding a sign in my face proclaiming “Alma 12 galaxies triogonic scandal pbs news hour: billionaire dectrogonic skeptical preemptive miscreants,” and I knew it was not meant to be, for I am from the 11th galaxy :-(
