Snarly parking and traffic jams today at Stanford, because it’s Alumni Day, or Week, so be warned. There are flags and tents and extra parking lots. From a eucalyptus grove lot in hella nowhere, I hopped on a little golf cart to hitch a ride to the library, and realized… I was on a golf cart with Buzz Aldrin. I’m not one for squealing fangirl moments, but, damn, the dude walked on the moon. Aaaaaaaa!

A jumble of “casual remarks” raced through my mind. I thought of asking him what year he graduated, or simply slapping him on the back in a hearty way and saying “Hey, Moon Man, what’s up?” I’m sure he would have been so happy to bond with me! Er, no.

Then while reading something on his cell phone, Buzz (I always call him Buzz, you know… um….) made some outraged comments to his wife (?) on someone who won a Nobel Prize and shouldn’t have. I won’t bust him by saying who he was cussing out.

Oh, oh, oh! I was in a golf cart with Buzz Aldrin! I totally pretended it was our Lunar Rover! *swoon*
