Craft Day

Craft Magazine Reception is Sunday! Pictured here is a project I did years ago: putting all of my favorite sayings about women, aesthetics, dressing, and landscapes on a pine dresser I got from that shop on Sanchez and 15th. Looks kind of like I’m a reject of an insane asylum, — next time around I won’t use red paint, haha — but it’s great in theory. Quoted on the dresser: Henry Fielding, Charlotte Bronte, Margeurite Duras, Jane Austen, etc.

Anyways, this weekend, Sunday, is the CRAFT magazine debut, on Bush Street. I’m excited that this is a magazine based in SF, from the MAKE people. I plan on running over there and getting some ideas and enjoying the first edition. Go CRAFT!

P.S. This is a newfound passion- I have been rejecting my mother’s Craft Queen status for about 15 years, with selected exceptions: see 5-hour baby sweater pictured below. It really takes the same amount of time as sitting in the plane on the way to visit the new baby!
