Every Other Wednesday: the reading
The writers’ group that I’m involved with is having a reading next Wednesday at the cozy Bliss Bar down in Noe valley. We’ve been gathering recipes and creating new works of fiction and poetry about food and have published them in a slim little volume we’ll have for sale at the event. If you’re interested in seeing some local writers get drunk and nervous in front of a bar full of people, and in sampling some interesting recipes, come check us out.
I’ll be reading a modified version of this piece, by the way, which is a true story about my mother’s year long attempt to steal The World’s Greatest Sangria Recipe from a Detroit restaurant.
(Full official blurb after the jump.)
“Every Other Wednesday: The Food Edition
Please join us in celebrating the release of EOW: The Food Edition with readings by featured authors, tastings of included recipes, and drinks at Bliss Bar (4026 24th St., SF) on Wednesday, Oct. 11th from 7-10PM. For more info email us at everyotherwednesday at yahoo dot commerce.
Every Other Wednesday, a San Francisco Writers’ Group, has evolved into a Wednesday event, every other Wednesday, of course, where members take turns hosting, presenting delicious food and sharing wine and writing late into the night.
Our second anthology, Every Other Wednesday: The Food Edition, is food-centric and includes our writing exercises, poetry and prose–all with the common thread of food–and a sampling of recipes we have come to look forward to and love.”
