MUNI lemmings (me included)

Was working late last night, and stepped onto the #2 idleing at the start of it’s route up Sutter Street. The bus was already a third full with other commuters doing the slow shuffle home. I boarded, grabbed a seat, popped in the earbuds, and broke out a book. After a couple of minutes, I looked up to see everyone on the bus filing off, headed for a #3 that had just pulled up behind. Apparently there was a problem with the #2(?), and the driver had made an announcement, but between the book and the tunes, I’d missed it.

In true lemming fashion, we all silently stepped off the former, boarded the latter, and everyone went directly to the same seat locations they’d just vacated. It was just Interesting, and made me wonder what would have happened if it was a case of musical chairs – would people then have hustled for new seats?
