It’s It… Locally Grown?

Reading Laughing Squid today about It’s It Google style. I was ready to poo-poo it as some rebranding of a Playland Treat by Google when I read that the Google chef wanted to make it non-trans-fatty and locally grown.
Wait, it’s full of transfats!!! The sticky treat I enjoyed each high school lunch? Is bad for me? I’m shocked and awed! Oh this is so sad.
My favorite is the mint, but on occasion, I will eat the Cappuccino. Go It’s It! I hope they start selling the locally grown ones outside of the ‘Plex. Also, if you’re missing Playland stuff, which is where the It’s It originally debuted, you can visit Musee Mechanique in Fisherman’s Wharf and see the creepy Laughing Sal.

One of the only things I hate about PacBell/SBC/AT&T Park, besides the corporate moniker:
After splitting from Candlestick, where the It’s It was the ice cream sandwich of choice for not-yet-champions-in-San Francisco, the Giants signed on with plain vanilla corporate Nestle, instead of the local manufacturer with a better product, It’s It, and have only offered the worst of ice cream sandwiches.
Giants, bring back the It’s It!
NOTHING will drive me to ask.com faster than google effing with It’s-Its. Save your non-trans, locally grown blah blah blah and hand me the original, honest-to-god, sinfully good, ice cream sandwich, and no one gets hurt.
It’s better nutritionally than the lesser chipwiches of the world!
I personally had an It’s It taste test not so along ago. I tried out the original It’s It, mint It’s It, coffee It’s It, a Toll House sandwich, and a Choco Taco. The clear winner? Mint It’s It. There’s nothing like putting my heart in danger for the name of SCIENCE!
OK the deal with trans-fats isn’t that they’re more decadent, it’s that they are a cheap way to keep food preserved. True decadence would be using butter, which tastes better, but doesn’t last as long on the shelf.
Am I the only one who rolled my eyes at learning that Google co-branded on the healthy version, and that it’s ONLY AVAILABLE in the Google canteen? That’s a whole new level of entitlement…
