Hm. I don’t think that can be Parnassus. The N-Judah comes up and turns off on to 9th Ave before it ever reaches the point at which Judah turns into Parnassus. (I walk from 9th and Judah to 3rd and Parnassus every morning to work, which is why I’m thinking this can’t be right.)

From the narrowness of the street, I’m guessing that’s Carl street somewhere between Cole and Irving Sreet. :)

I think the photographer may mean Parnassus Heights :-)

The photo was taken on Parnassus, at Stanyan. I know – I was there.

Are those the N-Judah tracks? I’m almost the the N-Judah doesn’t run along Parnassus.

http://tinyurl.com/h7f9v is a list of all the N Judah stops, and Parnassus isn’t any of them, but Clay and Stanyan is a stop. (http://tinyurl.com/kv67f is a map of the Judah stop. Parnassus does run directly parallel to Clay, though.)

]Parnassus and Stanyan is where the 6 Parnassus stops, though. There’s a mediterranean joint (Taboun) there where Cybelle’s Pizza used to be, and there’s a convenience store on that block with a LOT of flowers out front and decent beer selection. There’s a Walgreen’s there now as well. So, if the picture were Parnassus and Stanyan it would have a 6 stop on the right hand side, a convenience store on left, and Taboun and another 6 stop on the left. It would also be going uphill since Parnassus and Stanyan is where Parnassus starts its incline (my shuttle home from work goes up Parnassus at Stanyway every day).

All that nitpicking aside… I LOVE the picture. The Sunset and Inner Sunset have excellent photo ops hidden around like that, especially during the fall. I have a whole collection of Inner Sunset photos on line I’ve been putting together for a few years now.

Richard – Got it. :) I think you may be right. I’m inclinded to call all of that either Cole Valley or Inner Sunset. Then again, I call Laurel Heights “Laurel Heights” and a lot of people probably call it Laurel Village.

Okay okay. Carl and Stanyan. I’m SO glad we got this very important issue settled before someone got hurt.
