Vote and save SF’s historic sites

How can you decide between 25 noteably sites in the Bay Area in order to beautify, restore and renovate them?

The National Trust of Historic Preservation and American Express are asking you to do just that in a partnership that was announced Monday. From the Roxie Film Center and Tomales Town Hall to Cleveland Cascade Park and the San Mateo Courthouse, they all deserve their own attention. The good news? You can vote once a day until October 31st. The bad news? The final decision on how and where the $1 million pot will be split remains in the hands of a 22-member. Your voting will be taking into consideration during their selection process in November.

The Bay Area is also being used as a bit of a testing ground. If the process goes well, the National Trust and American Express plan to hold similar votes in other major cities. Just reading through the voting website, you find out lots of random tidbits about our city, so it’s worth a visit.
