Piedmont Piano Co. on Third St. near the ballpark is a spacious store full of beautiful instruments. Even if you don’t play the piano — and I don’t — you’ll be interested in their free concert series. They feature both classical recitals and new music composers.

This Saturday, New Orleans piano player and singer Henry Butler appears in a benefit concert for himself. Butler will perform blues, ragtime, New Orleans, and spiritual music. A $25 donation is requested, with the proceeds going to support Butler, who lost his house in Hurricane Katrina. More info. The concert will be at 8 pm at the store at 660 Third St near Townsend in SF.
