idiots... This is just a graffiti artist that writes BENET and he's from Japan (BNE for short). Everyone acts like this is so crazy just because they can actually read his stickers. No one notices his marker tags or throwups (unless you are a graffiti writer). Point in case, there are hundred of graffiti artists such aas Chino BYI, etc.. who travel MUCH more than this BNE guy and get up on a worldwide scale. They don't get noticed by the masses because its illegible to most people.

Just a theory, but BNE could stand for the title of the book Bahá'u'lláh and the New Era, or even the statement itself. That is, maybe the stickers are meant to say "Bahá'u'lláh and the New Era is/are coming"? Baha's apparently a major religious leader, though I'd never heard of the guy before a little research. I mean, there have been sightings in Japan, Kuala Lampur, Prague, San Francisco... Obviously there is a large group doing this. If the stickers were first pressed in Japan, it would explain the Kanji, and of course, all of these areas have at least a small group of Baha'i's... I don't know, just a theory.

The Japanese kanji at the bottom of the sticker in the photo is "sanjou", meaning "has arrived" or "is here." (though the NYTimes article also correctly translates it to "come to" or "visit", as well).

What the heck BNE means, who knows. Who cares? People are beginning to act like this is some "Twelve Monkeys" sort of thing.

One guy, ten thousand, a million, however many plastering this inane motif all over the world, doesn't matter: still nothing more than a dog pissing on a fire hydrant.
