One Corner’s Turnover

Walked down Stockton Street last night and noticed that La Felce closed. The intersection at Stockton and Union has had a lot of changes in the last few years after a few decades of no changes, it seems. Fior D’Italia, the oldest mediocre restaurant, had a fire, then moved to a new location on Mason Street, and the old site is now Joe Di Maggio’s. I didn’t think you could get more touristy than Fior, but you can. Then, Cafe Divine opened up kitty corner. I love Cafe Divine. It’s the optimum place for an afternoon wine, or a late morning breakfast. I was surprised, as the two other corners have had a change in ownership/business, when the third corner succumbed. La Felce left. It was an old school Italian fancy restaurant, far better quality than Fior. What is the photo about, you ask? I think it says “congratulations” but all I can translate is the “kuai” of the first character which is happy-like happy (new year). It’s in cellophane so they may be selling the poster, or just covering up the window from prying eyes. I thought it was kind of random and cool. You know, good luck baby pictures!

I think it translates to “happy full frontal nudity”, BABY!
“Happy I’m not a girl, BABY”
