This weekend: SF Zine Fest 2006

zinefestcats.gif The only reason I’m not going to the Mario Kart DS Auto Club tomorrow is because I’ll be attending the San Francisco Zine Fest 2006 this weekend. This City has a long history of underground zines, independent comics, and home-spun crafts, and the Zine Fest is a great way to celebrate all of DiY culture and more. In an age where most independent publishing is done online via blogs and personal websites, it’s nice to see creativity expressed in the old-fashioned paper and ink way. Me and my husband will have a booth under the header of Geek Pride Press, so you should come by and say hello!

The Zine Fest will be held at CELLSpace (2050 Bryant in the Mission) from 10am to 5 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Oh, and admission is FREE!

Ooo, I wish I had known about it sooner! I have a gazillion zines though most of them are from years ago. (Only one is current.)
