Who wouldn’t want to win their weight in chocolate?

Well, I suppose diabetics or the lactose intolerant wouldn’t. And chocolate-haters, too. But for everyone else, read on!

This Saturday and Sunday Ghiradelli Square is having their annual Chocolate Fest. It’s going to involve bands, food and lots of chocolate. Who doesn’t love chocolate? Oh right, the people I already mentioned. Anyways, if you think you have what it takes to make the rounds on the competitive eating circuit and if you believe you could give Takeru Kobayashi a run for his money, sign up for the “Earthquake Ice Cream Sundae Eating Contest,” and win your weight in chocolate.

Though really, I’d prefer my likeness carved in chocolate. A choco-bust, if you will. With other choco-effigies–like Easter Bunnies–they say that whichever part of the bunny you eat first says a lot about you: if you eat the ears first, you’re supposed to be a high achiever; if you eat the tail first, you’re very practical; and if you eat the eyes first and shout “Stop staring at me!” well then you’re Emo Phillips. But what if it is a chocolate bust of yourself? I ask you, dear readers, which part would you eat first?

In any case, if you have no other plans this weekend–or have some tourist friends in town–stop by Ghiradelli Square and take part in the festivities.
