Restaurants right next to Caltrain are great if you have kids. They get all excited every time a new train pulls in, there’s a great hullabaloo of horns and clangs, the kids run off to look at it. Meanwhile, until the train pulls out of the station again, the grownups get to have a quick and dirty gossip session.

If some genius would just build a tiny playground, fenced in like the one in downtown Burlingame, we’d be in bad mom heaven.

The Sweet Stop on Broadway has reasonably priced ice cream - we had a cone and a small cup with chocolate sprinkles for $4.50.
