The (Not) Friendly Cab Company

Friendly.jpgCalifornia Highway Patrol Officer Brent Clearman was the seventh on-duty CHP officer killed since last September. Officer Clearman was investigating a crash, on the the 66th Avenue on-ramp to northbound Interstate 880 in Oakland, when he was struck by a passing vehicle. Russell Rodrigues, the driver of the car that hit Officer Clearman, turned himself in to authorities claiming that he panicked and fled the scene.

The crash that Officer Clearman was investigating involved a taxi. An accident which may have been caused as the result of a blown tire on the “Friendly Cab.”

Some of Friendly’s cab drivers are alleging that “Friendly Cab Company, Inc.” is using unsafe retreads on their cabs, and that their concerns to officials in Oakland are not being addressed.

After taking a look at Friendly Cab Company of Oakland, it is my conclusion that I would not step into one of their cabs as a driver or as a passenger.

And another justification: (FRIENDLY CAB 4849 E 12TH ST OAKLAND, CA 94601)
