South of Market Gold Dust Woman

Last night’s Trannyshack show at The Stud featured even more lace shawl twirling than even I expected. And that’s saying something, seeing as how it was “Stevie Nicks Night” and all. Tribute Nights are always especially fun (and packed!) All the performers usually seem obligated to step it up a notch. Last night (or more correctly, this morning) was no exception. Highlights were the ‘carnie folk’ sexual harassment take for “Stand Back” (featured above). And “Leather and Lace” was transformed as a bedraggled white trash couple (fabulous faux queen Fauxnique and drag king Moyshe ben Fisted). With the ‘husband’ discovering the naughty pleasures of women’s lacey lingerie. Heklina’s “Edge of Seventeen” opener was a crowd-pleaser as well. I know there are still a bunch of you out there who have yet to experience what is now a 10 year and going strong “Only in San Francisco” institution. So, if you can’t get there in person, feel free to checkout last night’s Flickr set and get your Stevie on. Personally, I left wearing a light dusting of glitter and a tarot card in my pocket.
