San Francisco-based independent bookstore Books Inc. will take over the large space on Van Ness vacated by A Clean Well Lighted Place for Books, which closed in July.

The store is due to open in late September. Signs are already up in the windows of the 5500 sq. ft. Opera Plaza location, which is next to a new Peet’s Coffee.

The local chain owns ten stores, including two at SFO and one in a Disney mall in Anaheim.
