Anti-War = Anti-Clothing

So, around 1:30pm yesterday, after strolling down the newly spiffy Octavia Boulevard and taking a left onto Market St., I suddenly found myself asking: “Is that a group of around 40 naked people on bikes pedalling towards me?” Yes. Yes it was. It wasn’t time for the monthly “Critical Mass” nor was I somehow transported to Burning Man’s playa for “Critical Tits“. Just a pacifist crowd enjoying the combination of public exhibitionism, free speech and body paint. Though I’m still not sure what public nudity has to do with “No Blood for Oil”, it definitely made me chuckle. They took a left themselves and appropriately sandwiched their cause between Flax and Martuni’s and headed down Valencia. Did anyone else happen to get ‘flashed for peace’ as well?

Wonderful photo. But what a cold, foggy day for this particular skin-baring display of pacifism. Must have been some perky nipples on all those folks.

I appreciate the sentiment, but surely riding naked can’t be that good for you…. Prolonged riding leads to erectile disfunction in bicycle officers for one thing.

And this stops oil wars how, exactly?

Rooted them on at Market and Van Ness

… the old guy who lagged behind all the other cyclists was the best.
