In Los Gatos three people have been arrested for setting up a “booby-trap” on a dirt-bike trail – where they nailed one of their own neighbors. They watched as Robert Barnes ran his face into a rope secured by two peices of rebar. After Barnes went down, a rider behind him slowed and saw the three suspects lift the rope again. No motive has been determined. That’s just fucked up.

Sounds like someone got sick of the motorcycles trespassing on private property. There are many websites that describe traps that can be set to “discourage” ATV and motorcycle trespassers.
There wasn’t a mention of private property. I’ve also forwarded that link to the Los Gatos Police Department. And *many* websites? I hope you don’t condone such traps, since they are malicious and assault with deadly weapons with intent.
Indeed there was a mention of private property Authorities said they are investigating whether the incident was triggered by a dispute about Loma Chiquita Road, a private road about 5 miles east of Highway 17 at Summit Road. The accident occurred on Loma Chiquita Road. And yes, there are many websites that describe similar traps. I only linked to one of them. I certainly hope you don’t condone traps like that.
